Italian food is very famous around the world for its variety and mouth-watering cuisines. Almost any where you can find many Italian restaurants, as people around the world enjoy them. There are many Italian cuisines that are very popular, among them gnocchi.
Gnocchi can be used in many ways to cook different types of Italian dishes. It is a type of pasta, but is a lot different than the basic penne or spaghetti noodle. Gnocchi consists of small lumps of meshed potatoes, wrapped with flour or wheat.
There are various ways you can create gnocchi. Some make it with only bread crumbs and potatoes, mashed together with flour and eggs. Others make it by mixing sweet potatoes, flour, eggs and ginger together. Then cut it into small pieces by first rolling the dough into a snake-like shape-- then cut pieces from it.
The best thing about gnocchi is that it can be used to make variety of delicious dishes. You can also bake it with rich tomato or cream sauces (a favorite is vodka cream sauce), with cheese for a uniquely Italian flavor. There are also dishes like gnocchi con broccoli, gnocchi di patate, gnocchi di ricotta, each different by accenting the gnocci with different vegetables and cheeses. Thus, gnocchi can be used to make some very mouth-watering and healthy dishes.
