How to find different types of Italian soda

Italian soda is a sweet treat that many throughout the world enjoy. Made from flavored syrups and carbonated water, Italian sodas are sold at coffee shops, convenience stores, and restaurants. It's likely the syrups were developed in San Francisco by Italian immigrants, where they were added to carbonated water, to form what is now called Italian soda.

Flavors abound to make an almost endless array of tasty concoctions that can thrill and fill every palate. For a delectable almond flavor, many Italians turn to Ferrara Almond Orzata Syrup, which can be used for Italian sodas, but also coffee. Other syrups include Torani syrups, which can turn up in coffee shops in many different flavors. World Market carry their syrups, and Nordstrom's eBar also serves up Italian sodas.

There are many places to find Italian sodas if you prefer one on the go. Coffee shops like Starbucks have Italian sodas on their menus, as do independent coffee shops.  Ask for it with half and half added for a creamy taste, or add a dollop of whipped cream on top.  For a splendid Italian Chocolate Soda (popularly called “Chocolate Egg Cream Soda” in New York), try chocolate syrup, add milk and seltzer water.

The possibilities are endless with Italian sodas, so long as you find a syrup to your liking, just add carbonation, and you can enjoy Italian soda just about anywhere!
