How to make espresso |

Espresso has a dark, delicious, bitter flavor in the same way as dark chocolate, and it offers a delightful pick-me-up for the morning or a smooth palate-cleanser after a meal. Unlike dark chocolate, however, it’s something that you can make yourself whenever you feel like it. In your own home, you can produce quality authentic Italian espresso, just like the traditional Kimbo espresso from Italy.
Good espresso starts with two things: an espresso machine and espresso beans. Espresso machines are different from regular coffee machines in that they work with more concentrated amounts of liquid. They come in a variety of prices, starting at about $40 and going dramatically upwards from there, with each increase in price bringing a new feature, like a milk steamer, larger capacity, or a built-in coffee maker. Espresso beans are generally used in very small quantities, so it’s better to buy the grounds in small quantities or just the whole beans and grind them at home. Choose quality brands like Kimbo coffee beans. Both the quality of the machine and the beans play a role in the quality of the drink, so shop wisely.
To make espresso, put the desired amount of cold water into your espresso machine and secure the boiler cap. It won’t be too much – remember, espresso is served as a shot! Lightly pack the coffee basket with espresso grounds and put in the filter holder, and then make sure the machine is clear of loose grounds and insert the filter holder. Before the machine is turned on, make sure either a carafe or a cup is in place to catch the espresso.
Turn the machine on, and watch the espresso as it’s brewing, specifically, the color of the foam on the espresso as the drink brews. As soon as the foam turns white or almost white, it’s done brewing, and the cup should be removed and enjoyed. Drink it plain like the Italians, or add a bit of cream and sugar for a rich and delightful taste!
