Italian food has long been a popular choice for consumers. The Italian chef celebrity shows on television have had a tremendous impact in influencing the food choices of the modern day cook. Pasta sauce can be applied to a variety of different foods, such as sardines, salmon, or tuna, besides the usual fare of favorite pasta selections, like bowties, rottini, spaghetti, linguini or vermicelli.
Sardines can be grilled, seasoned with oregano, salt or other preferred, scented herbs, such as coriander or cumin, and combined with bread crumbs. Once the sardines are cooked to perfection, a rich, vegetable-based (tomatoes, tomato puree, asparagus, artichoke, baby peas, carrots) pasta sauce is spread over the fish and brown rice. If you wanted to focus on grilling an Atlantic wild salmon or a mouth watering tuna steak instead of the sardines, this could also easily be accomplished.
If you’re in the mood to make a roasted chicken dish, you can spice it up with a pasta sauce rich in eggs with red peppers. You can use tomatoes, carrots, zucchini, artichoke and toasted nuts, which will contribute to a smooth sauce that is full of many tantalizing flavors. The eggs are tossed into the blender with basil, salt, and grated cheese to establish a creamy texture-- then combined with the vegetables, olive oil, oregano, garlic and onions in the pot to simmer together. The whole mix could then be drizzled or spread over the chicken, along with a fresh, leafy green salad as a side dish.
There are many ways to apply pasta sauce in our daily lives, with just about every kind of meat or fish known to man. With a little creativity, everything is possible.
