Table wines often times carry a cheaper wine price- you can find large containers by the gallon for less than $10. Vintage and aged wines, on the other hand, carry a heftier price tag, and you can find bottles in certain wine cellars that run thousands of dollars. Also, the wine type can affect the wine price. Red wine prices are generally higher than white wine prices.

When determining a wine price, consider the source. Often times buying directly from a vineyard reduces the cost of the wine, while a supermarket or wine shop will mark up the price. Restaurants generally charge the most for a bottle of wine. But if you buy wine online, you may have a greater selection of imported Italian wine, especially from a business that deals directly with Italian wine makers.
