Wine Type

Italy is known for producing many different wine types.  These varities of wine vary immensely, from sweet white wines to rich and complex red wines.  No matter the type, you can always count on an enjoyable experience to accompany just about any dish.  To learn more about types of wine, it's important to consider a number of things: wine regions, wine fermenting process, vineyards and grape harvests, wine ingredients, and wine bottling, among other factors that affect the flavor.

Italy produces an enormous variety of wine types, from red wine types to white wine types. Some include: Chardonnay, Chianti, Insolia, Pinot Grigio, Lambrusco, Gavi, Rosso di Montalcino, Red, Sparkling, Tane, White, and many, many more.  Wine types may be bold and complex like Chianti or fresh and sparkling like Lambrusco. Many different types of wine allow one to choose the perfect flavor combination to enjoy with different types of cuisine; for instance, a robust red wine might pair well with steak while a light white wine might accompany seafood.
