"Drolo" Gluten Free Cookies

(Primo Pan) - 12 oz

Drolo, meaning fun and light in Piemontese local dialect, are the name given to these cookies that reflect their light and airy weight. Made with 40% Piedmont hazelnuts, egg white, sugar, cacoa and vanilla, these biscuits will be a sure hit at the end of any meal with a glass of Moscato. In the village of Battifollo on the Cuneo side of the Ligurian Alps, the Biga family bakes small lots of their tantalizingly-flavored biscotti according to local recipes. Primopan biscotti contain top-quality ingredients, such as eggs from small farms in the surrounding area, organic honey, raw cane sugar, and stoneground, local wholegrain flours including organic buckwheat.

Producer: Primo Pan

In the early 1900s, Giacomo Biga was a peasant farmer in the Ligurian Alps. Fearing for a poor harvest, he committed himself to an appretinceship in baking. Soon Giacomo found himself consumed by a passion for bread making. Winning the plaudits of his mentor in the bakery, he struck out to begin his own pastry shop. Today, Giacomo's passion has become Primo Pan — a family run business for over eight years.

Its soaring mountains and rolling plains are home to some of Italy's most beloved cuisine, from egg-rich pastas to rich, salty cured meats.
