Giovanni Marini first began baking pastries with his grandmother in their small family home outside of Buonconvento, Siena. As he grew, "Nanni" became entranced by the craft of pastry-making, and it developed into a lifelong passion. Together with his wife Floriana, he opened the Bottega del Pane di Giovanni Marini, which today has grown into one of the most beloved pastry shops in Siena.
