    The Piedmont region sits at the foot of the alps, bordering France and Switzerland.     In 1826, Pier Paul Caffarel opened his chocolate shop in a former tannery at the edge of Turin. Over the years his shop received considerable acclaim for its innovative new recipes, including the beloved Gianduiotto. Today Caffarel remains faithful to the Piedmontese chocolate tradition, crafting new and delicious confections from fine Italian ingredients.
