Our friend, Ben Poremba, of the Bengelina Hospitality Group in St. Louis, MO, is the first in the United States to import this excellent rich and fruity Italian extra virgin olive oil. Up to this point, Libellula Sabina D.O.P. Extra Virgin Olive Oil was only available for purchase at his boutique specialty market, AO & Co.

The deep violet olives ripen quickly as they are rather small, with a symmetrical and ellipsoidal shape. If you prefer mild olive oil, the Leccino olive is characterized by its delicate flavor, and is one of the oldest cultivars in Italy. This D.O.P. (Protected Designation of Origin) Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) is unrefined and unaltered. Following the age-old practices perfected during the Roman Empire, which excluded the use of heat and relies on simple pressure (cold-pressing), results in an olive oil that contains less than 1% of oleic acid. We are warning you: after tasting this olive oil, you will become an olive oil snob!
