Lime Blossom Honey - 3.5 oz

Prunotto produces lime blossom honey with hives flowering near lime trees in the Langhe and Roero, Italy. The nectar collected is very aromatic. It is normally crystallized. The color is clear, with bright yellow hue. The smell and aroma are very typical: the scent reminiscent of flowers only in the pure, natural honey. The aroma, to most people, reminiscent of mint, the smell "pharmacy," or the flavor of fresh nuts: it is very persistent. Its color is honey and mellow amber.

Taste profile: includes a mixture of mint, thyme, oregano and tarragon aromatics.

Pairing: fresh fruit, aged cheese like parmigiano, breakfast.

The Piedmont region sits at the foot of the alps, bordering France and Switzerland. Its soaring mountains and rolling plains are home to some of Italy's most beloved cuisine, from egg-rich pastas to rich, salty cured meats. While food culture here is rooted in tradition, new and exciting variations are always just around the corner.

In 1922, Alfredo Prunotto decided to risk his life savings on acquiring a struggling co-operative winery in Alba. Almost a century later, the Prunotto estate is one of Alba's leading organic farms, producing not only delicious wine, but also tomatoes, legumes, and sweet jams.
