SOGNO TOSCANO | SKU: PST-174
Paccheri look like giant macaroni, and some jokingly say, pieces of a cut-up garden hose. Historically, it was a considered as a pasta for the poor because the pieces are very large and filling, so appetites could be satisfied with only a small quantity of pasta and for a low cost. This shape is often stuffed with sausage and garlic and topped with a red sauce. It is also stuffed with porcini mushrooms and served with a garlic flavored white wine sauce. Whichever way it is cooked, recipes made with paccheri are definitely hearty! They also often include a thick meat ragu or bolognese.
The Tuscan reputation for fine cuisine is well deserved. In addition to stunning renaissance art and architecture, beautiful rolling landscapes and coastal retreats, this fertile region of central Italy is also home to some of the country's best wine, olives, fresh vegetables and savory meats.
The Sogno Toscano farm in Bolgheri, Italy has been in operation since 1923. Almost a century of experience has taught us the value of patience, stewardship, and attention to detail. We believe you'll taste this difference in every drop of our locally-grown olive oils.
